September 2008: We are providing a new service - all hardwood Firewood Delivered & Stacked to your residence - please see our Firewood page: Firewood Sales & DeliveryThis is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first. Thank you for visiting! Tim March & April 2008: Open burning law - if you are in an A-1 zoned area you may burn after 4 pm and until midnight - 12:00 am - so make sure your debris pile will finish burning by that time. No burning is allowed in any other Zoned area which includes AR-1, S-1 etc. or any area considered a Sub-Division. No burning on a Windy day for obvious reasons. Now is the time to think about your lawn and what it needs. Hopefully you applied a product in September, October, December (SOD) to get rid of beetle larva - grubs as application now is probably a waste of time & money - they are too far into the sub-soil for treatment. If you haven't taken care of those trees with dead limbs you may be surprised by a big limb falling down on your home or car considering the windy weather we have been having lately. We hope you take care of your trees as they are valuable assets to your property. We can work with you on payments - give us a call! January 2008: We have expanded our services again to include large & small lot excavation/site preparation for your new home or business. We also provide demolition, gravel or rip-rap for your driveways or drainage, debris removal. Please check our TTS Lot Clearing Services.
September 2007: Water Restrictions - please check your county/city for the current watering or no watering days. The drought in our area has affected our trees, shrubs & other landscaping. We suggest mulching any areas you are trying to save to keep the ground damp - even if it is only yard leaves, it will make a difference. June, July, August 2007: Time to think about hot weather! Are your trees & shrubs getting enough water? If your soil is dry for a long enough time it can harm the LIFE of your trees. Dry weather also stresses under-story trees & shrubs like Dogwoods, azaleas, expensive perennials. So keep track of your property's living treasures by using a rain gauge or other method. We recommend soaker hoses you can purchase and install yourself and by buying a water timer you attach to your faucet, you can set it before you leave for work & it will automatically shut itself off. Soaker hoses are also recommended for your garden & topped with a layer of mulch like leaves or pine tags which keep the moisture in the ground longer. This is also the time to be aware of your local Fire Code for burning debris (if allowed in your area). Some previously allowed burning time months have been cancelled by EPA regulations - not by your local Fire Marshall, so give them a call and BE SAFE! Last but not least is hurricane season so if you have waited to get that tree trimmed that's hanging over your house, barn or garage, believe me Now's the Time! March, April, May 2007: Happy Spring to all of our previous customers and new customers. We hope you are looking at all your Trees on your property for dead limbs or potential hazards as, regretfully, hurricane season will be here once again sooner than you think. So please schedule an appointment today for us to check out your property. "An Ounce of Prevention" is an old phrase but will mean quite a lot when the rain and wind begin to blow around your home! Tim Feb. 15, 2007: Remember not to burn debris until after 4 pm. Get permission from your local Fire Department for large area clearing by fire as winds could play an unseen factor in your fire getting beyond the boundaries you wanted to clear. We are happy to announce our member ship with TCIA - TCIA, Tree Care Industry Association... "The Voice of the Tree Care Industry"
July - August 2006: We want our customers & friends to be safe. Please keep the heat & humidity in mind while doing your yard-work and garden. Wear sunscreen and a hat to protect your head and your vision. Try to weed either early of right before sunset to avoid the suns' rays. Some sun per day is actually very good for you and provides needed vitamin D that is better than the vitamin supplement you get with D added products and about 15 min per day or every other day is all you need preferably on your arms or legs to be healthy. Sunshine D help us absorb other needed vitamins from our food - you are eating right aren't you! Tim Feb. 2006: We have a new look! We hope you will be able to find all the information you need about us and our services faster and more clearly. 2006 We received quite a bit of snow here in Culpeper so we know how much tree damage was done in the rest of our Northern Virginia area. If you need our services to help clean up your yard, take down or trim your damaged trees, please let us know. 2005: Important News! VA WAS in a statewide BURN BAN until September ( you could not burn any debris without first contacting the Fire Marshal in your area). In October the ban was lifted. Starting November 1 you can burn from 4 pm to 12 midnight if you are in an area - ZONE - that will permit burning of debris - like A-1 zoned areas. Because the weather was very dry this summer, we all Assumed the burn ban was for Dry Conditions - not so.... it was because of EPA air quality control ratings for the state of Virginia. Now you know "the rest of the story" ! 2005: We are delighted to be a part of the very informative and new magazine Celebrating Virginia Northern Virginia where you will find our Ad in their June issue and continuing issues. Please check out their website: http://www.celebratingva.com Issues list current & future events in the NOVA area plus wonderful short stories of places you'll want to visit. 2005: Our Ad with METROSERVICESGUIDE.COM 2004: Virginia was devastated by Isabelle 9/2003 & Gaston in 2004 which required many hours of cleanup to remove trees downed by hurricane winds & flood damage to homes & yards. We spent many hours removing trees from yards & from homes where they had landed. Cranes were brought in to remove several trees from homes with yard cleanup afterward. Our own home was spared, thankfully, but our hearts went out to the many home owners & businesses who were not as fortunate. We were also happy to donate our services were needed. We signed up with PAYPAL as a Premium Verified Business in 2003 so we can serve our customers who wish to make payments with their MasterCard, VISA, Debit or Check Card. You will find a new Payments Page and a Payment Confirmation page and we have redesigned the payment buttons to help our customers pay the correct total by adding amounts to the Add To Cart table. We hope you will check this new payment table out & let us know if you have any problems. Our Customers have found it very easy now to pay us with their Credit Cards thru PayPal ! We have made Navigation changes and general site changes. Let us know what your thoughts are by filling out our Feedback Form please. We are delighted to be members of the Washington D. C. branch of The Better Business Bureau. We want our customers to know we Value Your Business as well as our good standing in the community and the Northern Virginia Area.
